A FESTIVAL BORN FROM LOCKDOWN & RESILIENCE
The Unibrow Film Festival is an attempt to infuse positivity and give people an opportunity to explore their creativity through a medium that we all are comfortable with — mobile phones. The purpose is to reach all strata of the community, even to the last mile.
The inspiration behind this festival comes from the everyday stories of resilience in the midst of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and the indomitable spirit of people despite the untold hardships faced each day. The festival ran from August 10 to September 10, 2021 under the theme Life Through a Window.
Why We Did It
A PLATFORM TO AMPLIFY EVERY VOICE
This film festival was built to be a platform where people can amplify their voice and share their stories — regardless of whether they have a professional camera, a crew, or a budget. Just a phone, a story, and the will to tell it.
Only short films produced and completed after 2020, made on mobile phones between January and September 2021, were eligible. All films were screened in their original language with English subtitles.
